Med-Fit Exercise Rx Guidelines
De-conditioned individuals who are just starting a fitness program should exercise in 3 short sessions per day, 6 days per week, and follow-up every 4 weeks for re-testing and issuing a new Exercise Rx accordingly.
With this standardized frequency, these guidelines are easy to memorize: If your client's Med-Fit Score is in the 30%'s, the Rx is for 3 doses of exercise per session. If your client's Med-Fit Score is in the 40%'s, the Rx is for 4 doses per session, and so on. The goal is to gradually advance your client's Exercise Rx as tolerated to 150 doses or more per week, depending on your client's health status and fitness goal.
